If you wish to retain intellectual property (or patent) rights to your idea, you will probably not wish to submit it to this website (although our system does keep records of who submitted an idea and when it was submitted, which could provide evidence of 'a priori' thinking). Generally, though, the UIB is for openness, sharing and accessibility, rather than proprietariness. Moreover, ideas, as such, cannot be copyrighted: inventions and products can, but these should not be submitted to the site.
